2. Butterflies provide food for many other organisms. A variety of small mammals, nesting birds, lizards, spiders, and other insects all feed on adult butterflies or their larva. This is called the “chain of life”. As much as we enjoy and look forward to our butterfly babies and their parents, we must also remember all life depends on other forms of life.
